Queen of Queens

Life of a millennial living in the worlds greatest city

Hi! It’s me, A. Your trusted resource when it comes to navigating life as a millennial in the biggest, loudest and greatest city ever – NEW YORK! As you might have guessed by now, I reside in Queens in a typical pre-war 1BR apartment (rent stabilized SAY WHAT) with a fire escape I use as a balcony to tan or (unsuccessfully) grow tomatoes, as one does in the city. With me, my 20+ plants and my native Queens boyfriend share this small space.

This blog will be about the all and nothing and the in between experiences of life in the big apple: the day-to-day wannabe corporate girlie lifestyle, the best foodie spots as Queens is the food-mecca, struggles of your mid30s when half your friends are getting married or adopting a dog, and the other half are getting high and wasted at 4am at a shady bar in LES, about where to travel and what to see when you need to get da fuck out of this hellhole (there are those days), funny anecdotes with strangers and crazies, about navigating a city that never sleeps as your priorities shift, and sometimes just accepting the daily mundanity that even the greatest city on earth isn’t exempt from.

I hope you enjoy my site and can take some life lessons, or avoid some life lessons, from this. I am admittedly not a native New Yorker (going on 8 years, although I heard you have to make 10 to be considered a REAL New Yorker…) which in return makes me see things the city has to offer from a different angle. I am indeed a mid-30s millennial trying to figure it all out while living my best life as everyone around the globe is.

Thanks for stumbling upon my page, A.
